305. Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic Period, 250 B.C.-250 A.D., an unusual rabbit pot. Similar to the classic Colima dog, this instead has the head of a short eared hare. Made from light brown colored slip, it has bulbous torso with short legs and spout in middle of back. Ht: 5.25", L: 9". Rare! $750-$1,000
306. Mexico, Colima, Protoclassic Period, 250 B.C.-250 A.D., ocarina lot. A lot of 6 ceramic whistles. Four are identical and are of small seated birds (each 1.5" long). Creme slip and slightly burnished. Also included is a larger ceramic bird (ht: 2.25" with slight chip on tail) with wings spread (this not a whistle). Mexico, Veracruz, Remojades, Late Classic Period, c. 500-950 A.D., "bat whistle" or ocarina, possibly Nopiloa, the priest stands with genitalia exposed and aroused, his hands rest on his bulbous belly. He wears a ferocious bat's head mask with large flaring ears, mouth agape revealing sharp teeth and wears necklace with large medallion. Choice and rare! Ht: 4.75". $500-$750

Head displays puckered fat lips with small nose and eyes. Unusual headdress is that of animal, perhaps coyote that appears to be devouring the Olmec face. Interesting and rare. Each has warrior figure on left, wearing ornate animal skin headdress and holding axe in right hand, crescent shaped club in the other. He attacks equally fierce warrior. Half dollar size surface chip to one of the pictorials. Age crack in lower handle. Ht: 9.25". Choice. $300-$500
335. Peru, Moche, c. 100-800 A.D., a lovely blackware "lobster" stirrup vessel. Single handle with two pointed spouts. Larger lobster in high relief protrudes from top on vessel under handle with two fish and two crabs as well. Smaller protruding fish heads with open mouths are under each spout. On raised base which has incised geometric design. In choice condition with a couple of very small firing holes. Ht: 7.25". $300-$500

339. Peru, Chancay, ca. 1300-1500 A.D. a complete pouch in mostly shades of brown. Beautifully woven at top and bottom with two small jaguar faces either side of lower upper portion; two cords attached. Frog and fish motif on bottom. Exceptionally fine quality! Nicely embroidered with 6 horizontal rows of monkey-like figures seated with single arm stretched forward and wearing a crescent shaped headdress. Mostly in reds and yellows; bottom row ornately decorated with red background. Tattered but still quite decorative. Matted and wrapped in plastic. S: 36" x 20". $700-$1,000
341. Peru, Chancay, ca. 1300-1500 A.D. An extremely large textile fragment made from six smaller bands. Central four are of plaid design in yellow, blacks and reds on brown background. The two at either side of small rosettes in yellow and red. Tattered mostly on one side, but still quite decorative. Matted and wrapped in plastic. S: 33.5" x 52". $700-$1,000
342. Peru, Huari, c. 800 A.D., Lot of four pieces. Featuring a brown Huari terracotta kero with reliefs depicting a man carrying three men and crocodiles. Repairs with some rim chipping. Also two small Valley of Mexico ceramic head fragments, S: 1.25", in nice condition. Also an interesting Peruvian, Chancay culture, c. 800-1200 A.D., terra cotta mold of a mask, S: 2.25".
