12- A decorative Anglo-Indian ivory handle from the 19th century, 3.25". high, carved in the shape of a mongoose with a snake in his mouth, mounted on a deep black ebony shaft with horn ferrule. The central theme may be beasts of the fields and fowls of the air from Masonic tradition. Solid 18kt gold collar hallmarked Sheffield 1900. The collar is engraved "T. C. Mc GUFFIE BATH CLUB LONDON." The amber knob with beautiful deep yellow patina is Ottoman from the beginning of the 19th and was originally a water pipe mouth piece. L: 35". $1,000-1,200.

51- A gentleman's dress cane with elegant 4" straight nickel-plated pewter grip handle fashioned into an animal tableaux consisting of a hare, a squirrel and turtle. Turned collar, two-toned Indian rosewood shaft and metal ferrule. L: 37". $400-500.

52- A gentleman's dress cane. Tapered 2.5" pewter handle and collar with chased designs. Seven pewter spacers, with the shaft itself comprised of several score horn segments of various colors. Original metal ferrule. Wear dents in handle. L: 33.25". $400-500.

53- A Swiss Alpine hiking stick with 6.25" wild goat horn handle, wood collar, hardwood shaft and replacement brass ferrule. L: 32.25". $200-300.

54- A Repeater popper system stick, consisting of a 6.25" iron mechanism at the lower end into which a roll of early exploding caps was placed. The cane owner could then tap the road repeatedly in celebration of Independence Day or at a political rally. Hardwood shaft with ball grip. L: 29.25". $200-300.

83- A signed Japanese ivory knob from the 19th century masterly carved with a fox, 2.75" high, mounted on a beautiful snake wood shaft with gilt collar and ivory ferrule. L: 37.75". $1,000-1,200.

84- A good Continental real full bark malacca sword cane from the 19th century with crook handle, 5.5" high, and excellent Toledo-marked blade, 27.5" long, and horn ferrule. The long flat forged steel blade has a blood groove and fine decorations in the upper part. The rotating opening mechanism is concealed under a gilt collar, it is very high quality and works perfectly. L: 35.5". $1,100-1,300.

85- A decent English sword cane from the 19th century all in partridge with a handle of horse leg shape, 5.5" high, with silver hoof. The good quality flat steel blade is stamped London, faceted and has a blood groove in the middle, 13.25" long, the release push button mechanism is concealed in the silver collar of belt shape. L: 36.5". $800-900.

86- An English parade sword cane from the end of the 19th century with silver knob, 1.75" high, and real full bark malacca shaft with horn ferrule. The finely engraved silver knob is hallmarked London 1898, the exceptional forged Damascene steel blade, 22" long, of the highest grade. Damascene steel blades were very difficult to make and were manufactured only for great occasions like world exhibitions. L: 37.75". $1,200-1,300.

87- A good Dumonthier breech loading 12mm gun cane from the 19th century fully signed with crook horn handle, 4.25" wide, and wood veneer. The trigger is concealed in the rotating collar and the mechanism works perfectly. For similar pieces see Catherine Dike, Cane Curiosa, Chapter 33. L: 32". $1,100-1,300.

88- A Continental picnic cane from the 19th century in excellent quality with unscrewable ivory knob, 2.5" high, and thick real full bark malacca shaft with ivory ferrule. In the upper part of the shaft there is a fork and knife with metal mounts inlayed with ivory. For comparable pieces see Catherine Dike, Cane Curiosa, page 25 and 26. L: 37". $1,300-1,400.

89- A flashlight Continental cane from the 19th century with metal knob inset with a thick glass, nut wood shaft, ivory activation knob and brass ferrule. Fully functioning. For similar piece see Catherine Dike, Cane Curiosa, page 150, 13/19. L: 34.5". $700-900.

90- A good Continental fishing rod cane from the 19th century with on both ends bronze unscrewing mounts. In the bamboo shaft there are two other ones with adapted ends which, when turned around, fit in each other. For comparable piece see Catherine Dike, Cane Curiosa page 37, Nr 4/1. L: 37". $700-800.

91- An English railway surveyor double system cane from the 19th century in good quality with opera stag horn handle, 4.25" wide, combining a whistle and a compartment key on a pepper bamboo shaft with long horn ferrule. L: 34.5". $700-800.

92- A rare French ivory Louis XVI shadow cane from the beginning of the 19th century, 2" high, on its full bark malacca shaft with metal eyelets and bronze ferrule. This type of cane was used by the king's followers after the French revolution as a sign of recognition. L: 32.25". $1,200-1,400.

93- A rare French ivory Napoleon shadow cane from the beginning of the 19th century, 2" high, on its well spotted full bark malacca shaft with bronze ferrule. This type of cane was used by the emperor's followers after his fall in 1815 as a secret sign of recognition, the Napoleon shadow could be projected by light on to a wall. 94- A rare and precious French solid 22kt gold knob from the 18th century, 2.25" high, chiseled with flowers and baroque decorations, mounted on a magnificent snake wood shaft with horn ferrule. L: 41". $1,200-1,300.

95- A rare and early English silver gilt knob from the 18th century, 3" high, well chiseled with Amor and Aphrodite at the forge watching the smith, Hephaistos, fashion Cupid's arrows; engraved "Mrs Maxwell Lichfield House. RICHMOND" and mounted on an ebony shaft with horn ferrule. L: 37.5". $800-900.
