2422. Peru, Lambayeque, c. 700 – 1300 AD. A fine seated Cacique figure, depicted sitting cross-legged with hands resting on the knees. He is wearing an elaborate headdress and a striped manto. His layered clothing is molded in relief and is highlighted with red stripes over the cream slip. In excellent condition, with nice deposits. $400

2423. Peru, Lambayeque (Sican), c. 700 – 1350 AD. This fine single spouted portrait bottle is 7-1/2” high and depicts a unique individual with strong facial characteristics. The well-formed face is nicely detailed and set off with a sharply serrated headband. In excellent condition, with nicely burnished slip and good mineral deposits. $400 |

2424. Peru, Lambayeque (Sican), c. 700 – 1350 AD. This fine marine motif stirrup vessel is 7-1/4” high and features a nicely detailed crustacean with slightly anthropomorphic facial features draped over the top. A twisted braid handle connects the two spouts, each of which has a dragonhead adorno at its base. The flared base is deeply incised with traditional decorative designs. In excellent condition with good deposits. $350 |

2425. Peru, Lambayeque (Sican), c. 700 – 1350 AD. This fine greyware bottle is 6-3/4” high and depicts the primary deity Naymlap, flanked by two of his children. He is adorned with a necklace and the typical long ear ornaments. The tears streaming from his eyes represent the falling rain. The flat strap handle is decorated with a nicely formed bird adorno. In excellent condition, with nice deposits. $400

2426. Peru, Moche, blackware phase II, c. 200 - 300AD. A wonderful blackware erotic vessel depicting couple seated side by side and engaged in mutual erotic act. Couple sits atop round base with strong facial expressions to both. Choice condition with some nice deposits. H: 6". $900 |

2427. Peru, Moche, c. 200-700AD., Ai Apaec, the bloodthirsty. This ceramic vessel is disturbingly calm in it's portrayal of this fellow. The body of the vase is a decorated box shape painted with linear designs including a combined agricultural steppes and ocean waves. Seated in a cross-legged fashion, Ai Apaec stares sublimely forward. The stirrup spout connects to the body and the back of his head. Perched at the juncture of spout and stirrup is a monkey, rendered in openwork. His big, bulging eyes watching.. The vessel measures almost 8" to the top of the spout. Condition is pristine. $850 |

2428. Peru, Moche, c. 200-700AD., a blackware vase depicts the portrait of a Moche male wearing large earspools with smaller facing bat(?) head directly above. 2429. Peru, Moche, c. 250 – 550 AD. A large pregnant seated figure with both hands resting atop her bulbous belly. In cream slip with many round and dark brown colored dots on her front side and shoulders. Spiked pattern adorns each of her arms at elbows. She wears smooth headdress with long and flat flap on her backside. Old break on missing nose and chip missing from left foot. H: 8.5". Nice. $1,200 |

2431. Peru, Moche V Fineline vessel from Peru, ca. 550 - 700 AD. This superb stirrup vessel is executed in the characteristic Moro style and features mirror image of a figure seated in a stylized reed boat on both sides of the stirrup handle. The globular bottle has the typical ring-type base and is nicely burnished. Sunbursts adorn the spout
on both sides. Overall in excellent condition, with only minor surface degradation. H: 7.75". $950

2432. Peru, Moche, c. 300 – 500 AD., an attractive single stirrup handle “monkey” pot. Monkey head and tail emerges at opposite sides from cylinder shaped vessel. Nicely painted in shades of red and white polychrome on red slip. H: 8.25". Choice. $800 |

2433. Peru, Moche IV, c. 450 – 550 AD. A Mummy or “Malky” vessel and depicts the mummy in the typical seated position, with the rear bottle representing its burial chamber. Painted overall in cream, representative of the cotton wrapping, with touches of color on the back and a chestnut brown spout. A tiny probe hole repair in back, else in excellent condition. H: 8”. $950 |

2434. Peru, Vicus-Moche, c. 50 BC – 50 AD. An excellent double-chambered parrot vessel, 8-1/4” long, 6-1/4” high. This fine transitional blackware vessel clearly shows the influence of Vicus artisans on early Moche styles. The front chamber has the characteristic molded parrot head, executed in fine detail. The highly burnished slip shows strong mineral deposits. $600 |

2435. Peru, Nazca, c. 100- 250 AD. A most rare and early phase Nazca trophy head vessel. This cup measures approximately 5 ¾” in height. The background is in deep red with top of the cup displaying an intricate head gear pattern in the shape of a weave. Eyes imitate markings of the peregrine falcon a major Nazca deity. Face has nose and ear details in relief making this vessel a wonderful addition to an established collector. Only little surface wear, otherwise in choice condition with no breaks. $900 |

2436. Peru, Nazca, c. 150 – 300 AD. An early ceramic polychrome bowl with mostly likely 6 upright tuna fish in hook shaped posture with heads and tails at top of bowl. Fish in black on red background. Restoration evident. Still rare for its size! H: 6", D: 5.5". $850 |

2437. Peru, Nazca, c. 200 – 400 AD. An interesting flared cup depicting wide-eyed “scared” snail-like creatures with plowing tools(?) on bottom. For similar examples see Kauffmann-Doig, “El Antiquo Peru”, Vol. 1, pg. 393. Described in the book as possible slave laborers who are forced into agricultural tasks. This small and choice pot has nice earthly color tones including red and black on creme slip. Height is 3.75 ” and is 5.5 ” in diameter. Excellent condition with nice surface deposits and small chip on rim. $700 |

2438. Peru, Nazca, c. 200 – 400 AD. A lot of 2 items. A wonderful and colorful long sash used to hold bundles together. Textile has intricate characteristic geometric pattern and displays rich cochineal red tones despite age. Measures over 7 feet in length and choice! Also a sling manufactured from local sisal and over 30 inches long from late Nazca to early Huari, c. 700-900 AD. One side of the sling has a different weave and pattern from the other. This example displays an interesting style, different from the most commonly scene examples. Choice. $500/2 |

2439. Peru, Two Nazca ancient bone items. First, a rare pendant carved in the shape of a face with eyes in turquoise inlays. The back of the pendant carved in the shape of a snuff holder and probably used to inhale hallucinogenic properties. Pendant measures 5.3” in length, ca 200 – 400 AD. Second, an interesting spinning needle used in ancient Nazca looms and in the weaving of textiles. It measures 8.8” in length, ca 200 – 400 AD. Both of these items are in choice condition. $200

2441. Peru, Nazca, c. 250-450AD. A wonderful polychrome Nazca lady. Vessel shows pregnant female in curious pose with arms in relief and extended holding her bulging stomach also executed in relief.. She is portrayed with interesting tattooed face and eyes shut almost as if in trance. This lady wears fine front shirt garment, and back cape in exquisite painted detail showing multiple snail decoration, probably indicating high ranking in Nazca society. It measures 8” inches in height. Found in choice condition showing minimal wear for its age. $1,400 |

2442. Peru, Nazca, c 250-450 AD. Choice kneeling Nazca warrior chief. This fine polychrome and detailed vessel depicts Nazca lord with all its symbols of authority and power. It is wonderfully executed showing the staffs of power and command in both hands. White robe is centered with a pectoral image of a fearsome trophy head also representing shamanic prowess. The back shirt has two Sun God symbols painted in black over white background. This warrior also has intricate turban headgear and feline whiskers ornaments on face. It measures 8” in height, A wonderful addition to any established collection. Found in excellent condition with only professional repair around the base of its spout. $1,800 |

2443. Peru, An intricate Nazca, c. 250 – 450 AD. Polychrome flared cup. It measures about 5.5” in diameter by 3.75” in height, Depicts 13 trophy heads in rows all painted in different colors portrayed in vivid color. Found in choice condition with nice manganese blooms only little chip to the lip on the rim. $600 |

2444. Peru, an interesting Nazca polychrome cup. Vessel is approximately 4.25 Inches in diameter, ca 250 – 450 AD. Vessel depicts a number swallow birds painted in dark brown and red over white cream. Cup is beautifully decorated in traditional Nazca polychrome, and found in excellent overall condition. $550 |

2445. Peru, Nazca, c. 400 – 600 AD. A choice "face" jar with stylized human head with protruding nose and large circular eyes. Eyes and long rectangular mouth are detailed in black and white polychrome on red and orange slip. Single white band around top with smaller black band both above and below. Slight age crack extends down from top through and below left eye; also smaller one on back. Back side of jar with 3 large red jagged points facing down. H: 5.25". Nice. ` $600 |

2450. Peru, c. 250 BC – 200 AD. A Paracas/Proto-Nazca single stirrup vessel. This is a particularly rare polychrome ceramic from the Paracas – Nazca valleys of southern Peru. The vessel portrays severed human trophy heads with other body parts painted in red. The stirrup also displays a number of ancient repairs to the spout with old fibers still holding bridge handle in place. This is an extremely rare example showing these ancient repair techniques. The vessel shows nice deposits consistent for its age as well characteristic Paracas resin over the pottery. H: 7”. $1,000 |

2451. Peru, Recuay, c. 1-650 AD. An excellent positive and negative polychrome vessel, 7” high. The head of this pacha type bottle depicts an ornately attired ruler, whose mantle is decorated with elaborate avian, mythical creatures and geometric designs. 2452. Peru, Salinar, North Coast, c. 200BC-200AD., a rare group of 10 hammered gold pieces. Collection includes three standing warriors. Two holding long weapons and with nice detail. (2.25" and 3" tall). Third piece is almost rectangular in shape with simplistic facial detail ass well as similar arms and legs. Four additional almost square flat hammered plaques also have similar simplistic facial design (sizes are under 1" square). Also two small bowls, one .75" tall and 2" in diameter, the other 1" tall and 2" in diameter. Last piece is a hairpin with round flat top with long pointed pin. Worth of a strong bid. $4,500 |

Horse bust is exquisitely executed with ancient calligraphy writing a probably describing horse belonging to the Royal Emperors stables. 2476. Thailand, 17 th century or perhaps slightly earlier(?) Bronze head of Buddha. He appears in meditative stare with down cast eyes beneath high arched brows and fine aquiline nose. His hair is tightly curled with a domed "ushnisha" having a flame finial. Note fine thinning of his lips. Attractive brownish patina throughout. In excellent condition.
