3. Third Intermediate Period, 21 st – 25 th Dynasty, 1070 – 712 BC. A wooden plank element from a sarcophagus inscribed for the lady Isis. The piece features a scene of the god Thoth facing a seated Ra and a seated Sekhmet with the goddess Maat behind him. A decorated altar is between them. To the left of the first scene is part of another, showing Horus in falcon-form amongst lotus flowers. Nicely colored and quite attractive. 22” x 10 ½”. $1750 Image
4. Third Intermediate Period, 21 st – 25 th Dynasty, 1070 – 712 BC. A wooden Ptah-Sokar-Osiris figure, no headdress. Well styled with most of the paint missing. Traces of green and blue pigment remain with black detailing, including text down the front. H: 14 ¾”. Mounted on base. $3750 Image

Each carved to form the legs of a lion, the front to each with a lion’s head and front feet, the back to with the lions back legs and feet. Much of the yellow pigmentation remains with some cosmetic highlighting in blue and black. Height front legs: 15 5/8”. Height of back legs: 13”. 19. Greco-Roman Period, c.1 st Century BC/AD. A wooden “ushabti” effigy. Nicely modeled with fresh paint. He holds a sceptre and flail and possess a beaded burial net over legs. 60. Roman Period, 1 st – 2 nd Century AD. A rectangular cartonnage panel with nice, bright colors. Depicts a scene showing the deceased, mummiform, to the right. Before the deceased stands to figures, one holding to vessels in an offering position and another holding an ankh-sceptre. Between the figures and the deceased is a small oryx of gazelle. A row of wings adorns the upper part of the panel. Colors include golden yellow, red, blue, green, gold, and black. 8 ½” x 6”. An attractive piece! $1850 Image

88. Thessaly, c. 4 th millennium BC. A seated terra cotta buxom female figure with chubby arms and legs and highly stylized face wearing turban. Her arms are across her chest supporting her breasts. Front side of piece is painted with thin horizontal lines in pale red and black polychrome. Three continuous horizontal lines adorn the back side of seated figure. Repaired at neck. 89. Greek bronze bowl, c. 500 BC. A nicely crafted with vertically ribbed design on slightly bulbous body. Wide opening that flares open. Nice and attractive rough textured mottled green patina throughout. H: 2.5", D:4.75". $750 Image

91. Attic, c. 450 BC. A fine black figure lekythos with main scene depicting two horses being held by the reins by a standing bearded warrior. Horses are also being guided by another man who pulls them from the front.. Owl representing Athens with large eyes hovers over both horses and faces outwards. 99. South Italian, c. 350 BC. A lovely Gnathian oinochoe with grape clusters at top beautifully painted in white and pale brown polychrome with vines hanging in between. Munatius Adiectus was a member of the central Italian Munatia family, which seems to have specialized in lamp making. Many lamps of L. Additional zigzag "rope" designs at 4 separate levels at mid-section of jar. Bulbous body with tapered neck leading to large opening (12" in diameter). Greenish-blue dripping glaze covers pot except for bottom portion. Choice condition and rare this large and nice. A fantastic decorator piece! Height is 44.5" and at least 1" thick throughout. This unique civilization developed unabated, from its earliest Huasi/Chavin phase a full Millennia before Christ, all the way to its Inca absorption into the “Tahuantisuyo”. Even in defeat they were able to retain their polity intact. Cajamarca’s main “Curaca” aligned himself with the Atahualpa faction against Cuzco, aiding in the final defeat of Huascar. 305. Peru, Lambayeque. c.700 – 1300 AD. A nice spouted cream ware monkey vessel with strap handle, which is enhanced with a great monkey adorno and painted overall with a cream slip, over orange terracotta. Much of the black decorative designs remain, which is a rare feature and the base has the traditional incising denoting fertility themes. H: Intact. Very similar to one at UCLA’s Fowler Museum. $250 Image

He has captured a deer, which is slung over his back, suspended by ropes tied around his forehead. He is wearing a cloak, and is adorned with large ear ornaments and incised hair. 312. Peru, Nazca. c.100 – 300 AD. A large polychrome bowl which depicts the popular Wairulo seeds. These were used by the Nazca people as jewelry and good luck charms, a practice which continues today. It is a traditional motif on ceramics of this period. Repaired. D: 7 5/8”. 313. Peru, Nazca. c.200 – 500 AD. A large avian bowl with a deep, rounded bottom. This thin-walled bowl features a pair of owls painted against a black background, which is intended to simulate night. The disembodied wings are shown to the sides. The large white spots separating the birds represent full moons, set against the dark background of the night. Restored from 2 large pieces and a small shard. D: 5 ¾”, H: 5”. The figure has a wonderful facial expression, skillfully executed in detail. Minor repairs on spout and handle, else in good condition, with nice deposits overall. H: 7”. 316. Peru, Shipibo, c. mid 20th century pot in the form of a rotund seated female. Typical brown and rust colored linear designs on bulbous body and head. Thin arms rest across belly with short stubby feet and genitalia exposed. Ht: 13". Nice condition. The Shipibo tribe consists of around 35,000 people living in over three hundred villages in the Pucallpa region. Their communities are mostly situated along the Río Ucayali and nearby oxbow lakes. $500 Image

A row of six green ones with golden eyes and a row of six golden ones with green eyes. Creatures have faces with mouse-like ears, bodies with legs and curled tails. 331. Zaire, c. Kasai Province, Zaire, 1880s-1910, "Katanga Cross". Copper X-shaped ingot (10" long) Named after a region in Africa along the Kasai River in Zaire, one of the areas where they have been found. Called handa, they are the classic currency associated with the region. The ingots weigh anywhere from around one half pound to some two and half pounds, but their exact value in units of weight is unknown. $150 Image
