331. France, c. 1789. A corkscrew with a gold handle, hall-marked with a crowned “M” and a monogram on the underside of the corkscrew and with the same lion head mark the other pieces have on the top side. . H:45 mm. folded. Weight: 33.08 gm. Less about 5 gms. for the steel screw. Very rare. This cataloguer has never seen an authentic gold corkscrew until this piece arrived for auction. 332. Sweden, 1874. A hall-marked silver penknife made by Joh, Engstrom/ Eskilstuna, his name engraved on steel blade which folds into a steel protector which is dated 18/74 with the initials J E on each side of an engraved arrow., This apparatus neatly folds into a sterling handle which either conceals the blade or becomes the blade’s handle when put into cutting design. A fascinating “penknife” worthy of the best knife collections. $500 image

333. Victorian England. A fire lighter with silver handle with crystal mother of pearl handle. L: 7 cm. The “crystal” is a small piece of pure quartz, which provided magnification, or it could create enough directed heat to ignite a fire. $150 image

336. A rabbit head handle cane with realistic-looking inset eyes and nice detail throughout. Handle appears to be of resin or some other synthetic material. Embossed metal collar with smooth metal ferrule. Shaft is of dark wood with interesting carved circular indentations from just below collar to 5" above collar. Choice! 337. Ivory "L"-shaped handle made from 2 pieces of conjoined ivory. Base of cane depicts the head of a dog facing downwards and holding a basket by its looped handle in his mouth. 338. THREE crook handle canes. Two of which are all wood, the third of an amber-colored resin. One of the all wood canes with English hallmarks and stamped, "Swaine & Adeney, Ltd. London." 339. A Continental folk art cane with curved handle, carved from one piece of wood. The handle terminates in an upright plaque on which is carved a bust of William Shakespeare, or a person having his. Likely English, circa 1880, with bark on the shaft and original iron spike ferrule. L: 37.75 in/ 96 cm. $600 image

340. A very interesting American folk art cane carved to resemble a totem pole, with faces conveying numerous expressions segmenting this piece. There are seven faces, each having glass-bead eyes, with nail ferrule, ca. early twentieth century. L: 34 in. $300 image

346. American, 19th century, 18kt gold-plated metal fittings, maker's mark "C.S." delicate, perhaps a lady's walking stick. At top is a small knob of golden tiger eye, beneath which is a long and ornate super collar engraved "M. POLE." 360. An American system stick of wood with a crutch handle, and white metal collar. Containing a Map of Boston showing an American Legion parade. In light green, blue and black, with a spring-activated mechanism in perfect working order. The Map of Boston is rarer than the New York World¹s Fair Map. 362. An unusual and very fine historical cane with an ivory handle featuring the bust of Wellington and done in the style of phrenology cane handles. In this case, below the shoulders and encircling the bottom most portion of the ivory handle is a list of his various victories. Age crack in nose. Rosewood shaft, bi-metal ferrule. 371. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec cane. Brass duck head unscrews to reveal a 6"-long glass flask. Metal collar directly beneath cane, which is assembled from 3 conjoining sections of equal size by screwing them together. Metal ferrule with shaft of attractive light chocolate-colored wood. 373. Large cherry wood handle in the shape of a baseball with circular multicolored protruding glass display in center on top. Segmented dark brown shaft, no ferrule. Age cracks to handle and wood with beautiful glossy patina. This cane would be used as an enforcer; when swung by the ferrule it would be deadly. Length of handle 2", overall length is 36". TWO canes with crook-shaped goat horn handles (black handle appears to be of synthetic material), second with applied circular metal decoration with brown knobby wood shaft and monogrammed on silver collar, "G.E. Raymond," the other with smooth brown shaft. Both with metal ferrules and collars. Length of handle 4" each, overall length is 32.5, 35.5". Some slight chipping to backside of authentic goat horn cane. $250/2 image

377. TWO canes, both with gold knob handles. The smaller handle with gold cap monogrammed on top "CHI." Immediately below the handle is the incised monogram "JP" and a branch with leaves and berries. Light wood shaft with metal ferrule. Second cane is of presentation style, void of monogram but with exquisite floral design on sides along with hallmark. Length of handles .5", 1.25"", overall length is 35". $300/2 image

378. TWO canes, both with synthetic handles. One with "T"-shaped handle, silver collar, ebony shaft and synthetic ferrule. Second cane with amber-colored tall handle with pink shaft, tassel attached at top with horn ferrule. Both nice and useable. Lengths of handles 4" each, overall length is 36". $150/2 image

379. TWO canes. First is a snakeskin cane. Covered from above metal ferrule all the way up until the tip of the end of crook handle (fashioned in shape of snake head). Snake head of simplistic design with two black inlaid eyes and slit open mouth. Nice condition with some slight age cracks to skin. Overall length is 33.75". Also a New York World's Fair Cane. More than likely from the 1939 Fair. Crook handle cane has horizontal black and red thin strip design from tip (ferrule missing) to end of crook. "New York World's Fair" is printed in orange just below crook handle. Nice condition. Overall length is 36". $250/2 image

380. TWO silver handle canes. One "L"-shaped cane with silver cap at end of handle, wood spacer, and silver-monogrammed right-angle piece "CAB, 1926." Dark brown shaft with metal ferrule. The second with "H" monogram on cap handle. "TEHLIN" stamped on base of handle. Metal ferrule with six-sided light brown shaft. CLOCKS

381. A very impressive Tiffany mantle clock, c. 1900. Key set and key wind. Face is black with gold Roman numerals, brass central medallion with floral motifs, gilt open work hands. Domed beveled glass crystal. Body appears to be black slate with cast Baroque brass fittings likely gilt at one time now somewhat worn with reddish brown patina. Brass finial on top lacking, otherwise complete and attractive. Face and movement marked "Tiffany & Co. New York". A very desirable piece not often encountered with the Tiffany marque.
