The deceased is depicted wearing the nemes head-cloth, which terminates in a vibrant checkerboard pattern, and shesh headband, which ties at back. Below and around the head cloth is a rectangle-dot motif in alternating colors. Handsome facial features with very prominent eyes and apparently the face was green, which has now faded to a gray-green color. The other colors include blue, gold, red and black. Intact with some repair and minor loss of pigment. H: 15”. Mounted on a custom stand. $5700 image

113. Ptolemaic Period, 3rd – 1st Century BC. A handsome Ptah-Sokar-Osiris figure. The god is depicted mummiform, wearing nemes headdress, beard and broad-collar with pendants and falcon-headed terminals. On his head is a tall headgear composed of ostrich plumes, solar disc and ram’s horns. Below the collar is Anubis above a column of text, which continues down the plinth on the backside of the figure. Nicely rendered with pleasing style and good detail. Intact and all original, only some minor loss to the tip of the nose. Bright coloration, which includes pink, green, blue, red, black and white. H: 28 ¼”. On a modern black base. A very impressive example with charming style and very vibrant and attractive coloration. $7500 image

Some of the reliefs known to have adorned the buildings at Amarna depicted the queen and her little daughters handing out gifts, including rings such as these, to the waiting hands of the populace. $675 image

194. Persia, Luristan, c. 1200 BC. A very fine sword handle in heavily patinated brown/green patina. The cast handle features a stylized facing bird¹s head on each side. The top of the handle is crescent-shaped with a small ball pommel atop. The weapon is missing the blade and one small pommel ball. The casting is very dense and heavy and with the blade it must have been an "Excalibur" edition. H: 4.5". This weapon was undoubtedly meant for ceremonial use. It is still quite handsome and desirable as a great work of the Ancient Bronze Age. $2500 image

233. Danish Mesolithic flint knife, 6 th – 5 th Millenium BC. Called a “blade knife with trimmed fore end and back edge”. These knives were blunted for the fingers, and they were unhafted. Occurs in all Danish Mesolithic cultures, but especially in the older erteboelle culture, 5400 – 4000 BC. Length 94mm with a nice yellow-brown patination. 259. Western Europe, 16 th Century. A fine iron Halberd head, with long spike, small axe head, and hook for unseating a horseman. Socket has four hole for securing it to a pole. L: 15” and in excellent condition with very little rust. This weapon is strongly made by someone who knows how to make a weapon that will stand use. Probably made by a provincial armourer or blacksmith rather then a well-known armourer of repute. $600 image

Firearms
262. China, early Ming Dynasty, around 13 th – 14 th Century. An iron hand cannon constructed with the exterior comprised of a series of heavily reinforced rings, which secure the cannon from exploding when used. Caliber of 18mm. In superb untouched condition and measures 4 1/8” in length. This piece was found inside China. A very early cannon dating to the medieval era and is completely original and sound. Seldomly seen outside of museums and one of the earliest firearms on today’s market. $1200 image
263. China, early Ming Dynasty, c.14 th Century. An extremely rare and impressive bronze cannon with a conical smooth barrel with line decorations and reinforcement. Caliber is 17mm. This type of cannon was made to mount onto a pole when discharged. A fantastic example in choice condition. Uncorroded and beautifully patinated with no defects. Length 13” and weighs c.2000 grams. $2400 image
264. China, Ming Dynasty, reign of Jia Jing, 1522 – 1567. An iron cannon comprised of 4 ringed segments and a handle. Caliber 5mm. Near the igniting hole is an inscription which reads ‘Jia Jing reign”. Length 16 2/3” and very rare and interesting with the inscription. In near perfect condition with some minor oxidation. 265. British, early 19 th century. A tower flintlock New Land Pattern pistol, 65 caliber. Loc marked tower, crown GR. Kings proof marks Crown over GR arrow and Crown crossed arrows on the barrel. Stock marked Crown over arrow and marked O arrow S over D. Sliding safety on lock. This is a good example of British ordinance produced during the 1812 war period. Overall length 15 ½”. $1200 image
266. British, late 1700’s period. A nice blunderbuss musket. Brass barrel, two kings proof marks on the barrel, crown crossed arrows B P C and crowned crossed arrows. Newcastle on top of the barrel near the breach. The lock is nicely engraved all over with G. Johnson below the pan. Brass trigger guard and brass butt plate nicely engraved. Original ramrod. This example has a spring loaded bayonet that folds back and springs out. Length of gun 29 ¼”, with bayonet out, 39 ¼”. Barrel opening at muzzle 1 1/5”. Every part of this gun works perfectly. Lock and butt plate screws are engraved and in great shape. $3500 image
