1156. A nice diamond-shaped textile panel, Roman, 5 th – 6 th Century AD. Deep brown color over beige with Maeander-style pattern in the central portion and geometric patterns around the outside. 1157. A relatively attractive linen textile panel, while in a fragmentary state, shows much intricate design and details. A medallion contains a crouching figure surrounded by floral and vegetal motifs. An oblong vignette also contains human, animal and vegetal decorations. Colors include green, red, black, white and yellow on a tan background. The hemmed edge of the garment is to one side and adds to the attractiveness of this interesting panel, which is from the 5 th – to 7 th Century. Measures 12” x 8” and would be quite pleasing if artistically framed and mounted. $300 View Image
