26. Western Mexico, Tabasco, c. B. C. 200-200 A. D. a fine miniature terra cotta figure of a standing female wearing a small sombrero, skirt and blouse which covers only her left breast leaving the other breast bare‹a seldom seen posture. Her well-defined hands touch the top of her yellow painted skirt. There are vestiges of brown paint as well as yellow on this crème slip terra cotta. On a stand. H: of figure:12 cm. Small chips off sombrero and the lady¹s nose. A desirable and scarce culture.   View Image  $350

35. Valley of Mexico, Mexico City, c. 500 B. C. a long rectangular "sello" or stamp seal. The raised surfaces create a wave-like design. Tall handle in back. D: 9x1.8 cm. These sellos were used to print in color on fabrics or to stamp in relief on pottery. Body printing was also done. See J. Enciso, SELLOS DEL ANTIGUO MEXICO, pl. 56, #V. 61. Mexico, Oaxaca, Monte Alban, c. 500 B. C. an anthropomorphic "kero" or cup in the form of a cross-legged, seated open-mouthed Shaman. Each hand rests on a knee. 78. Guatemala, Mayan c. 350-700 A. D. a large tubular pendant of the sun god carved in brown nephrite. The suspension hole is drilled from the top center midway to the back of the figure. When one hole is covered by a finger, one could make a shrill whistle sound by blowing across the top hole. The Sun God is very nicely carved in relief. L: 7.3 cm. 79. Guatemala, Mayan c. 350-700 A. D. a larger green jade river pebble carved into a maskette. This piece holed at top for suspension and has two holes, one on each side of head for earrings now missing. The eyes are squinting, the nose flat and only the thick lips representative of Mayan work from Guatemala. H: 4.3 cm. With modern chain.   View Image  $350

80. Guatemala, Mayan c. 350-700 A. D. a fragmentary maskette with just the frontal full face half extant. The entire back part was chipped off in antiquity. The piece features a large nose the characteristic of Ek Chuan, the long-nosed patron of Mayan merchants. H:2.2 cm. A good candidate for being set in a finger ring!   View Image  $100
